ETF in Stock Connect – Southbound Trading
The Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) and the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) announced that trading of exchange-traded funds (ETFs) under Mainland-Hong Kong Stock Connect was commenced on 4 July 2022. Global and Mainland investors can now be benefited from the widened access to ETFs in the Mainland and Hong Kong markets, which expands the investor bases of the two markets and in turn will enhance the efficiency on liquidity provision and price discovery in each market.
